PEN TOOL WORKFLOWS

FOCUS: The nice part of the Pen Tool Workflow is it is it have a high level of control, but there are some little hacks if you know how to use the tools together. As you are going through the Workflows, compare and contrast to your own artwork so you can start to select the coloring and value methods.

TABLET-BASED WORKFLOWS

FOCUS: We are focusing on our Tablet Series with the Blob Brush and Pencil Tools. The Pencil Tool is my go to tool for the Tablet. It allows for speed, but also offers more control than the Blob Brush which we will use along with the Tablet Pressure Settings.

FULL-LENGTH MODULES

TIP #1: Welcome if you are New to Teachable. The first thing to note is that everything is in a Full-Length Step by Step Format in our Active Learning Curriculum. I would plan 30 Minutes to an Hour per Lesson. Some of our Advanced Coloring Lessons are a little bit Longer since we are adding Multiple Color and Value Layers.

2- SCREEN APPROACH

TIP #2:  I recommend a 2-Screen Approach to Viewing and Following Along. Most of the videos are Formatted to be on a Smaller Screen. This will also prevent you from Pausing and Toggling Back and Forth between Teachable and Illustrator. It will also prevent Shrinking your Screen to View Both at the same Time. Have Illustrator BIG.

FOLLOW ALONG

TIP #3: The Thumbnails on Teachable are arranged by Build Tools as well as from Easiest to More Challenging. You will need to Enroll before Following Along to the Learning Modules on Teachable. Once you are Enrolled, go through our Getting Started Guide (Active Learning Curriculum) before starting on a Unit or Learning Module.
