STEP #1: DOWNLOAD + EXTRACT OUR ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR TEXTURE FOLDERS. Download and Extract each of our Digital Download Folders. The Texture Folders will come to you zipped. Extract All before using them in Adobe Illustrator. The Textures are ready to use once you have extracted the folder. There is no installation needed to use BMP Textures, just File - Place.
Image
STEP #2: FILE + PLACE BMP TEXTURES INTO YOUR WORKING ARTBOARD. Place a BMP Texture over your finished vector artwork. Simple File-Place. I recommend scaling the texture to fit over your completed artwork before you export or save. Simply scale the texture file using the Bounding Box or the Properties Panel. You can scale the texture to fit over the asset or the entire artboard.
Image
STEP #3: APPLY AN OPACITY MASK IN THE TRANSPARENCY PANEL. Adjustments to the texture file can be made in the Transparency Panel in Adobe Illustrator. Use the Transparency Slider and Blending Modes to adjust the opacity of the texture for subtle texture overlays. If you are using textures on your own T-Shirt Designs, use the Opacity Mask to punch out the texture to show through to the garment color.

APPLYING BMP TEXTURES

FILE - PLACE BMP TEXTURES: Once you have grouped and resized (if needed) your finished original artwork, you are ready to bring in the BMP Textures. I have 2 BMP Texture Folders or 360 BMP  Files that will work with this method. Under File - Place from the Textures Folder into your working Artboard.
SCALE TO FIT: Transform or Scale the BMP textures so they fit over the entire Design. You can scale and move the textures over your design to play around with the areas you like the best. Check the Textures over a white artboard so you can see the Texture. It is fun to play around with multiple variations with different texture files, sizes, and placements.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your tutorials. It's one think to draw on paper, yet another to create artwork directly in Illustrator and yet again a completely different game to take hand drawn work into Illustrator. You've managed to make this process make sense and again, I thank you for your video tutorials, they've been a real godsend.jeremy rozen
