Print-on-demand platforms use a specific, limited range of ink colors — not every RGB or hex value you can pick on a screen will print accurately. This tool is built from Printful's official color-only swatch reference: 420 verified print-safe colors, organized by hue family. Paste any hex code or pick a color, and it finds the nearest color that will actually print the way you expect.
HOW IT WORKS
- Enter your color. Paste a hex code or use the color picker to enter the color you're considering for your design.
- See the closest match. The tool compares your color against 420 verified print-safe colors and shows the nearest match, with a label telling you how close it actually is.
- Copy and use it. Copy the matched hex code into your design file in place of your original color.
- Or browse by family. Filter the full palette by color family to explore print-safe options directly, without starting from a specific hex code.
Print-on-demand printing uses a specific, limited ink range — not every color you can pick on a screen. Designing with colors outside that range means your final printed product can come out duller, shifted, or different from what you designed. Checking your palette against a verified print-safe reference before you finalize a design catches this before it becomes a costly reprint.
