Vintage Mascot Brushes for Adobe Illustrator

WHAT IS NEW: Mascot work has to hit hard on a T-shirt, not just look good on a screen. Sixteen AI prompts give you that bold, hand-inked mascot energy straight from a rough sketch, formatted for Midjourney, Gemini, ChatGPT Images, Kittl, and Canva, and the matching 50-brush download lets you finish it by hand in Illustrator so it's print-ready. Sketch rough, finish with real brushes.

DOWNLOAD BRUSHES: Brush Libraries will come to you as Zipped Folders. Once you have downloaded and extracted the folders, Brushes are ready to be used in Adobe Illustrator. Brush Libraries are compatible with Adobe Illustrator CC through CS. Mac or PC.

BRUSHES GUIDE: Once you download a file, you will have it forever. Save all files to an external hard drive or cloud-based storage. Start with our Beginner and Resource Guides to understand how to save, apply, and edit in Adobe Illustrator.

WHO IS THIS FOR: Apparel designers, t-shirt illustrators, mascot designers, and anyone building in Adobe Illustrator who wants their work to look like it was made by hand, not by software.

HOW TO USE BRUSHES: No install is necessary - open directly through the Brushes Panel in Adobe Illustrator. Open the Brushes Panel, select a Brush Library, and click the brush to apply to a selected path. Expand when you're ready to edit.

WHAT THIS HELPS YOU DO: You apply Rough Ink to your mascot outline. The line already has texture and organic variation. You run the Width Tool. You expand the stroke.

OPENING BRUSHES

HOW TO USE

DOWNLOADING BRUSHES: Brush Libraries will come to you as a Zipped Folder. Extract All before using in Adobe Illustrator. No Install is required. Just open the Brush Libraries directly through the Brushes Panel in Aodbe Illustrator.

OPENING BRUSHES: Under Window - Select Brushes. In the Brushes Menu, drop-down to Open Brush Library. Hover over it and select "Other Library." A Normal Open Dialogue Box will appear to select and open any Brush Library.

EDITING BRUSHES: Shape Builder is a tool that can be used to give an alternative to the Eraser Tool while Editing. In order to use Shape Builder, you will need to Expand the Brush Layer. Select All - Expand (or Expand Appearance + Expand). I recommend duplicating the Brushes Layer to preserve a Live Brush Layer for future edits. Once the Brushes are Expanded, Select All and click on the Shape Builder Tool. Hold down Alt/Option to Delete.

Most people get stuck at one of two spots — they have a sketch, but can't build or ink it cleanly in Adobe Illustrator. This combo fixes both ends.

Attach your rough sketch to get clean, inked linework back from the prompts, then open the file in Illustrator and polish it with the matching brush set.

Everything you need is right here. Apply the prompts to your sketch and move directly to editing.

After creating your Vector (or Image Trace), use Smoothing, Path Simplify, or Expanded Editing Techniques.

— Work across three sets built for different apparel characters: personality, bold vintage, organic distress

— Build illustrations that look made by hand, not designed on a screen

EDITING BRUSHES

Our 200 Adobe Illustrator Brushes will come to you as a Zipped Folder on Teachable. Download and Extract the Brushes Folder before using in Adobe Illustrator. Use our Quick Use Method (no install) or Save your Brush Libraries to User Defined. Saving Brush Libraries to User Defined only takes 1-5 Minutes.

VARIATION + EDITING: Shape Builder is a tool that can be used to give an alternative to the Eraser Tool while Editing.

APPLYING BRUSHES

HOW TO USE

PRIMARY BUILDING: Many of you will use Shape, Pencil, and Pen Tools as your Primary Building Tools. Understand the Building Tools and Options in Adobe Illustrator. Align the Building Tools (Ellipse, Pen, and Curvature Tools) to the Design Elements (Shapes, Lines, and Curves) in your own drawing or sketch.

EXPANDED EDITING: To use Shape Builder, you must Duplicate and Expand the Brush Layer. Select All - Expand (Expand Appearance). I recommend duplicating the Brushes Layer to preserve a Live Brush Layer for future edits. Go long with your initial paths to create a larger target for editing with Shape Builder.

SKETCH TO BRUSHES

Sketch to Mascot Brushes prompts (16 presets), Sketch to Anime Brushes prompts (16 presets across four styles, plus lip-sync animation frame set), Character Turn Table prompts, Drawing Guide lessons, Brushes Workflow Builder, year of access and updates.

I appreciate your videos. I have been an illustrator user for years and have my own ways of doing things. It's great to see other ways of using tools and learning tricks I didn't know were available! It's also good to see you doing the same thing as me in other instances, confirming I'm on the right track!Andy Zenz

Awesome tutorial! I don't think I've picked up something so easily from someone who knows what they are doing. I managed to draw my first vector art and it was a joy! Great work keep it up!blitz145
